"The view from Barrancas Avenue Bridge toward Brent Island provided one of the better views of the day." ~Bruce
"The bridge to Perdido Key was one of the best views of the day. Looking south towards Big Lagoon it seemed that the break between Florida and Alabama would be here, not in Flora-Bama."

"Required border picture-finally, out of Florida!"
It was a chilly morning when Bruce biked out of camp heading for the Ferry at Fort Morgan. I headed out shortly after him looking for a gas station. Found the gas station....checked out a couple of other stores looking for gas for the Whisper Light Stove. Then I happened to notice that I am heading North on Route 59....the GPS is taking me around Mobile Bay and not across to the Ferry. I turn around and head back south. Less then a mile from the Ferry I see Bruce....he has made it the twenty four miles to the Ferry in one and a half hours and so have I....timing is everything.
A most beautiful day. It took about a half hour on the Ferry and we were across Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island.
Below are two pictures of "The Scary Bridge". This bridge is three miles long and rises eighty feet over The Intracoastal Waterway from Dauphin Island to the Mainland of Alabama.
"There was a twenty mile an hour headwind which was blocked by the bridge on the accent and kept my speed to a mere eighteen miles an hour on the decent (normally I could have gotten to 30+ miles an hour)" ~ Bruce
