St. George Island State Park~ We stayed here for two nights enjoying all of its beauty and quiet.

St. George is a barrier island twenty eight miles long and a mile wide at its widest point. The island is made up of mostly sand dunes, sea oats and pine trees. The state park at the end of the island is nine miles long.

There was a five mile long path out to the very edge of the Island.

What appears to be little snow mushrooms popping up everywhere along the sandy path.
